Hi I am Samuel. I will tell you about my reflection of the goal.
When I came to this camp, I had three goals. But I can't accomplish all of the goals. Now, I will tell you about the goals and reflection.
My first goal was to end Global Leadership Program for Students camp successfully. However, I got three yellow cards, but I can't get prize. But I knew that only 15 of GLPS Students could get prize, and the more real ending successfully is learning leadership, not getting prize. Also, even I got more than 3 yellow cards, I will not get yellow cards in the next camp and get prize. Also, I will get lots of green cards more than first camp, too. But I will use this goal again in Blog writing, because when I come to this camp in winter, I will be adapted faster in this camp than the first camp. Also, I memorized every rules, and I will not break it.
The second goal was to meet many friends. I met many friends and roommates and classmates etc. Can you see the photo? That is all my classmates. I accomplished this goal because I met many people not only classmates and roommates. I met other people even it's not class 9 or room 204. I usually know all of person except 2 in 5th grade. It will be helpful for me in school, next camp. academies, and anywhere because we can make friends anywhere.
The third, last goal is to improve English. As I said, we need to use English from Opening Ceremony to Closing Ceremony. When I met my mom on 2nd week, she said my English became better than going to camp. So, I think I could improve my English. Also, I learned debate, history, writing. My debate, history, writing skills became better than before, so I accomplished this goal well as second goal. I am so thankful to History, Debate, and Writing teachers and TA's, because they improved my English skills and make me accomplished my goal. Thank you!
I would like to give an overall comment on your blog writing assignments. Your English has definitely improved :) When you wrote your first draft, which was setting 3 goals, you lacked in explanation and clarity. However, as time went on, your use of language, elaboration, and illustration greatly improved :) I especially liked your photo essay, which clearly showed what you had in mind when you took the picture. Great job, Samuel. I really feel gratified after reading your reflection that you learned a lot from camp :)
ReplyDeleteWhat you can do from now on is to read more books and see videos. One way I improved my English was repeating and memorizing several 2-hour movie clips. I watched the clips every day, engaging in a free conversation with the characters on the screen (although this sounds kind of funny :)), and listening to CNN and BBC news whenever I could. In case of books, I would recommend you to read books from "Newberry Awards". These books are for middle school children, but with your level of English proficiency, I think it is time for you, Samuel, to read "Newberry Awards" books one by one.
